#MAGA folks actually love pollution to air, water and ground, to help billionaires! A federal appeals court has unanimously blocked the Trump administration's Environmental Protection Agency from eliminating limits on fine particulate matter pollution, commonly known as soot. Three judges. Three votes against the rollback. Zero dissent.
The unanimity matters. A 3-0 ruling is not a narrow legal decision where judges are divided on how to weigh competing interests. It is a court saying clearly and without qualification that what the EPA was attempting to do was not legally permissible. When judges appointed by administrations of different political parties reach the same conclusion without disagreement the legal reasoning tends to be on solid ground. #Environment #EPA

This court found the rollback did not meet that bar. Three judges agreed. The soot limits stand for now while further legal proceedings unfold.
The people who breathe the air in communities near highways and industrial facilities and power plants did not follow this case through the federal court system. They went about their lives. The court just made a decision that affects the air they breathe. That is what environmental law does when it works.

Utah towns face immediate drinking water shortages after wells run dry. This leaves communities such as Apple Valley in Washington County under emergency conditions as their main supply fails and forces conservation or water hauling.

A deeper agricultural well recently drained the local aquifer according to town officials. The result is that residents must restrict use while regional reservoirs including Lake Powell continue dropping toward critical levels that threaten downstream deliveries.

The Colorado River basin infrastructure supplies water across seven states to roughly 40 million people. This creates pathways for widespread shortages if upstream depletion and allocation disputes remain unresolved.

Local leaders urge immediate conservation. Federal forecasts project further declines that could affect hydropower and deliveries. Updated compacts and infrastructure protections are needed to prevent cascading failures across the system. (92 words)
