John Roberts: You want to ban Texas public schools from hiring foreigners who are in the U.S. on H-1B visas. Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) “Currently, I have a freeze in place for universities that can hire no new H-1B visa employees… We don’t need people who need H-1B educating our kids and I think it’s absurd that they exist in the first place.” “In Texas, we don’t want our teachers to be holders of H-1B visas. We want them to be Texans teaching Texans.” John Roberts: “But what are your concerns, Governor?” Greg Abbott: “The concern is why are we giving up a job in our public schools to someone who is here on an H-1B visa? Why is that person getting the job, not a Texan? That’s the biggest concern. What values are those H-1B visa teachers teaching our kids? Who knows?” �“I want to make sure it’s Texans with Texas values who are educating our kids in our public schools.”
