On November 29, 2018, Donald Trump’s former attorney, Michael Cohen “pleaded guilty to lying to Congress when he insisted that Trump was not pursuing plans to build a Trump Tower in Moscow after January 2016, casting Trump’s repeated claims that he had no business interests in Russia in a new light” (Washington Post, 2018).

As a result of this event, Robert Mueller and the special counsel running the investigation have released new documentation from the Russia Probe investigations naming Donald Trump as “Individual 1” in the FBI’s list of top suspects in the investigation. “Legal experts said it’s still unclear how much peril the president might face as a result of the new evidence Mueller has gathered about the Moscow project and WikiLeaks, but his prominence in the prosecutors’ papers puts the president in an awkward starring role” (Washington Post, 2018).

So what does this mean really? In the immediate time frame probably not much with the exception of a lot of talk in the media and on the web, but we do know that Mueller is still collecting viable info about Trump’s illegal actions with Russia and we do know that Trump is the top rated suspect in said investigation. I feel like if Trump were a Democrat that the GOP would be chanting “lock him up!” on every street corner by now, whereas most of them still seem keen to keep licking his boots and let him try to run our country like a dictatorship.

Thankfully Democrats now control the house so hopefully they can mobilize action and get our country back on track like it has in recent years past. I do really hope that this action comes before Trump pushes forward on his Government controlled TV network which will fill everyone’s lives with all the garbage propaganda of him, his deplorable fan base and his family.

Once this has all concluded, historians will write of the dark days of the US under a reality TV star and how he made us an embarrassment to the rest of the world. I hope we and the rest of the world learns from our mistakes so some good can come of this period in American history.
