“Reverend” Bakker and Why Deplorables Vote For Trump

If you’re anything like us, you’ve wondered how anyone…anyone at all!…could continue to support Trump given all the evidence of just what a scam artist he really is. Well, unfortunately, here’s a bit of explanation. Remember “Reverend” Jim Bakker? The televangelist who was Tammy Faye’s other half? And who was accused of raping his secretary Jessica Hahn? And who went to jail for fraud?

Well, he’s been out of prison for a while now, and he’s back on TV. Now he teaches his followers that The End Times Are Near, and that if they’re going to survive the coming chaos they’ll need to purchase lots of survivalist supplies…specifically food. And, conveniently enough, he will sell ’em buckets of the stuff. And not just any buckets. These are designed to survive fire and flood.

And, yes, somehow, there are people out there eager to buy his wares. One suspects they are the same sort of people who vote for Trump…time, and time, and time again.
